alarm clock energy consumption

We are doing eveything to reduce our electricity consumption,replacing bulbs not leaving things on standby etc. But today I got to wondering how much electricity my radio alarm clock uses, does anyone know and will it be worth switching to an old fashioned big ben?

Not sure how much a modern clock radio uses, but did see the rating on a quite old one which was a massive 5 watts. Not sure if this was with the radio on full blast, but seems a lot for just a LED. This would mean it would use 43.68 kilowatt hours in one year, so suppose it would be better to use a wind-up clock.
