loan for a friend and she stopped paying me - can I take her to court?

This is either law or financial question I guess so bear with me.
I stupidly took out quite a large loan for a friend of mine (15k) who was on the brink of losing her home and almost everything she owned. Some would say I was stupid but I believed she would honour the agreement we had which was that she would pay the loan monthly and once a month she did ( for about 10 months) then the payments stopped, she stopped contacting me and cut all ties ( changed her number email etc) When I finally got in touch she advised me she had been ill ,lost her job and was about to lose her home. She said she would pay me back every penny once she was well & working. She hasnt and since the loan was in my name I knew I had to pay the loan for whicj I was responsible which I have for 2 years. I have since found out she is now fit and well and didnt lose her home and has set up her own buissness. Where from a legal standpoint can I take this as I have proof we had a verbal agreement ( emails texts etc) Can I take it to court legally her personally or via her now reputable buissness. I have bank statements etc that proves I transferred the monies to her. I just dont know what to do. Can anyone help at all or point me in the right direction?

Presumeably there is no official paperwork?
She has crapped on you from a great height, has she not? You helped her out in desparate times, and all you got was lies, excuses, etc.
I would certainly not stand for this, and would probably set out to ruin her business. She must owe you £K10?

Phew - and you did all this without any formal witnessed agreement that she would pay you back each month? I think you need to see a solicitor to get your money back. Bank statements only show you gave it to her. Emails and texts may count as legal evidence but I am not sure - hopefully the legal eagles on here will see this one and comment for you.

I would also be inclined to have a chat with her and record the conversation and get her to admit liability. Either that or get her to sign a loan agreement.

Then I would get a charge put on her house until the debt is paid.
