Dont want grandfather near my baby

HI there. My ex partner, and my baby's dad, suffers from schizophrenia and life with him is very hard. His dad Jeff has never supported me when I asked him for addvice about his son. when our baby was born, Jeff told his son maybe the baby was not his and encouraged him to do a DNA test. The baby is nearly 8 months old and he has not seen him, did not buy him any presents for Xmas, dont ask how he is doing. My ex keeps holding hope that maybe one day his dad will love our son. I gave that man many chances and even gave him a letter to explain myself. He never replied, I dont want him near my son, now it is too late. Can I do something legal to stop him getting near my son?Thanks
