I Love You
23 Answers
Do you think, if these 3 little words are used so freely, they become meaningless, as a child I never heard my parents say they loved me, and I never said it to them, the only time I said it was to my Father on his death bed, I just assumed they loved me, and vice versa, but nowadays it seems parents say it to their kids all the time, does it really need saying quite so often, or should we be able to tell we are loved, without being told, so often?

I don't remember them telling me, but I knew they did anyway and it never bothered me. I had a very dear Aunt and Uncle who, after every phone call, said 'love you' and I always liked that. I think it's said a lot more now than in my parents' day and I think that's a very good thing. Like pat, I tell my darling dog that I love her every single day !
APG. I never saw any affection in my husband's very small family. He finds expressing himself in words very difficult. We have been married for 50 years in January and he's better at it than he was. The family went through some terrible times and I know that's basically why he is as he is. He didn't get a normal childhood.
