does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

Supposed to be sunny tomorrow, I see. We shall be spending the day in darkest Essex (is there any other sort of Essex?) but at least sis still has fields at the bottom of her garden; I keep expecting to see tower blocks going up there.
Anyway, seasonal wishes to all biddies.

Good evening, anyone know what day it is?
(looks like they're all drunk/asleep)
Hope you've had a good time. I had a lovely day with family, Tarquin excelled in the kitchen, as always. Never mind the Remy, I've discovered Coffee Vodka. Oooooh, for a seldom drinker that warmed my insides. I could do with some today, haven't been able to stay warm for long and I have to retract my eyes like a frog to swallow 'cos of a painful throat :(
Had lovely presents, two pairs of slippers shaney :), lots of goodies, a difficult jig saw etc...a generous Dunelm voucher, I want to revamp my boudoir, even the spiders are bored with it....oh, and a Beryl Cook calendar. Must get busy filling in my social appointments ....dentist....
erm....that's it really.

Hi Robi sounds like you all had a good day!
We went to Salinas (the salt flats) to see the flamingos who were way in the distance and we needed binoculars! Then we had a nice lunch half of which Mr N and I brought home! Hija is now getting ready to fly back to Barcelona. I hate it when she leaves, I just feel so empty, but by tomorrow I'm quite glad!!

ooh, another son who cooks, so useful. Cottage pie sounds good, my kind of meal..
I've been everywhere man....I've breathed the mountain air man...
Well, Derbyshire hills air. Met the Tarquins at an antique shop about 50 miles away. They bought a cabinet which has a story but won't bore you with that. Had a drink in a teashop/book shop where all the customers knew each other and welcomed us like family. It was like a Victoria Wood sketch. Stopped off in Ashbourne on the way back and looked round the shops. Despite being overcast and very misty in parts it was lovely, tis beautiful countryside.
I'll see if I've got anything dingable, too tired to cook.

don't think we'll need dinner after the cottage pie. Plus they brought gifts of gold, myrrh and chocolate. Well, one of the above. And a gorgeous coffee table book about mosques that I had been thinking of buiying myself. And a huge jigsaw that will go on the pile of unopened jigsaws and unsolved puzzles. I'll attend to them all when I become totally immobile.
OH received a peculiar terrarium that contains a green lawn and tree and a swimming pool with a body at the bottom of it and a cop taking a photo of it. I must enquire if there's some sort of story behind this.
