Yeah but if you mean like all the fad drinks - babycham would be up there i reckon, plus that was the yuppie era so i bet there were loads of poncy cocktails and stuff too.
Bezique in the coffin-shaped bottle, a hideous melon-based liqueur called Midori, and what were those 2 drinks that women drank? Was it Taboo and Mirage? On the beer front is was the decade (well at least 1985) of Americana: Schlitz, Rolling Rock, and that Canadian stuff Moosehead (?.
I was a barmaid in St. Andrew's during my student days. I remember many students drinking pangalactic gargleblasters (a cocktail based on the drink of the same name in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). This drink had virtually every known spirit in it plus very colourful ingredients and it seemed to have smoke coming out of it too. It wasn't so cheap but one glass was enough for the world to be psychodelic. Another favourite was Malibu and pineapple. There were also the usuals beer, black and tans, snakebites etc
I was a barman at Glasgow Uni. - on special occasions people would have a "Greemn Monster" - this consisted of a measure of vodka, blue bols, cointreau and advocaat in a pint glass topped up with cider. This may be similar to a "Sheepdip".
Creamola foam. The powdered crystals which you added to a glass of water and watched it fizz up in your glass. Available in raspberry , orange and lemon. It appealed to all generations because kids loved mixing up their own drink , a lot of adults used it as a mixer for their vodka and many swore by it as a hangover cure or a remedy for heartburn (probably because of the bicarbonate of soda which it contained) Mmmmmmmm , Creamola Foam. Yum yum !
