salt beef

can anyone give me a tried and tested recipe for salting beef. My mother used to use saltpeter, but this is no longer on sale. Thanks in advance

live he should be able to do that for you ..
i've not had that in years ..can i come round

i didnt know you couldnt buy saltpeter....
