Here you go
2 large tablespoons gram flour (chickpea flour)
1 large onion finely chopped
1tsp each turmeric, garam masala, chilli powder
salt
yogurt

Mix the spices with the flour and salt add the onion and stir then add enough yogurt to make a fairly soft (not runny) mix.

Heat oil to 190C and drop in ping pong ball size blobs of the mix - takes a bout 2 or 3 mins for them to cook. A bit of trial and error needed to make sure the inside is cooked before the outside burns. You could also make flatish "cakes" and shallow fry.

Once you get the hang of it you can add anything you like e.g. chopped fresh coriander

Very moorish - I usually make double or treble the above quantities and freeze down anything I can rescue from the family. Hope you like it.

The batter is sold in packets in asian shops.....just add water & mix chopped onions/spinach & seeded chopped green chillies. Fry in frying pan.
Sorry - poor spelling written in haste didnt mean Moorish meant moreish - but hey they taste good wherever they come from !

Just wondering if there's any substitute for Gram flour as my local Tescos don't sell it ?

Can i use normal plain flour instead ?

Thanks

Realy do think you have to stick with the chick pea flour - could be spelt garam - i would definately expect it to be in almost all supermarkets - and definately in the asian corner shop if you have one

Thanks woozer....i'll go find some
I use Brown Rice flour as I prefer it and it makes good onion Bhajis as it is fairly neutral in flavour. I get it from my local health food shop.
