Twenty minutes on a fiche reader and 50p for a printout and I was done.
Although most local papers have some form of archive on their websites, they generally cover news stories and I doubt any would go back that far. I'd email whichever library it is and explain your situation - you're sure to be pointed in the right direction. Merci, lafrancaise!
