Surely it could be seen as someone saying.. No more Indians will fight for you kind of thing? Maybe due to the new wave of prejudice in the UK. I think the term "great war" can be seen as advocating.

Sepoys was the term used in the British Indian Army. Indians, and brits can be any religion.
