This is their third year and I have lots of fruit already but they don't seem to be putting out any runners this year for me to pot on .They are not in the ground but in a strawberry pot and various other containers .Are they past their sell by date and shall I chuck them once finished fruiting and get new for next year ? I have had a few ripe fruits already and they taste OK !

ah yes shaney .... can you do this with it?

Tired, feet aching... I've got this birthday coming up and this time my friends won't allow me to ignore it so I've been out shopping for clothes, shoes, you name it. I typically wear clothes till they fall off my body ten years later so I really need to do this shopping but it's no fun when you're a fat broad :-( Got pretty lucky though; I'll tell you more tomorrow.

God Neti is going to be pesky now...

oh lordy... another warm weekend promised... I have been zipping around the country to stately homes while the weather is nice, lovely gardens at Chenies

http://www.cheniesmanorhouse.co.uk/the_garden. htm

(well, not tulips at the moment; in fact they were just taking out armloads of daisies to put in forget me nots for next season)
Good morning folks.

Jude says to say hello (after I mailed to check she knew where we were). Says she's ok & hopes to be back with us soon.
Hi all, very windy here, but rain has gone for the moment. Would just like to hi to woofy and hope that all is ok with her.

Mr N (the last of the romantics) has bought me a coloured pair of wellies for my birthday!!!!
oh is it your birthday neti? when's that then?

<not going to let us forget is she....tut...?>
Afternoon, possums. Must have been a tattoo yeah certainly wasn't me telling the Ed 'bout Neti, Robi, I was sure her birthday was April Fool's ;-)

Oh Vinny you've got some tart on your shirt there, I'll help you with that stain dear, just come to momma and I'll get it out. No really it's no bother i'm happy to do it ;-)

Birthday: My few but dear friends are arranging my birthday party at an Italian restaurant next month. (There will be tiramisu.) Of course I should be the one to throw a party but as I've told you there isn't enough room to swing a cat at my place so the roles are reversed and they're taking me out. My elder "whole-sister" and my youngest half-sister will be up; the other half-sister lives in Singapore so that won't happen but two out of three is great, I'm very happy about it. No big dinner party, about ten or so, but some lovely people.

For da ladies: Found some nice black linen trousers yesterday but given my waist size clothes producers think I stand ten feet tall and so they were a tad long and I felt I had to buy some nice heels too, to elevate me a bit ha ha. (I don't own a sewing machine.) High heels are good for my back and bad for my feet, can't have it all can you. Any-hoo, I found a pair of semi high heel boots I really liked. Already have a black tunic, so I'll be all black BUT I've got a pair of lacy linen turquoise wrist warmers to flatter the hands and a linen turquoise scarf and a beautiful turquoise ring to go with it so I won't be gloomy black. It's a relief to be done with all that shopping, now there's just the small matter of survival to consider (those boots cost...)
Oh what a day, daughter had 'orrible blonde hair with black 1" roots, so I persuaded her (Twack!) to die it brown. She has very thick long hair and it took 3 boxes of dye (she only bought one, I had the rest in the cupboard, all different shades of brown) so I had to plough through the hair and now my hands are brown and the nails are bronze, look awful and we're going out to eat a thai meal tonight. Can't shift the stain, so I'll look glam won't I? shall have to wear the wellies and they'll think I've come down off the mountain!!!

Shall I repeat that?
Ha ha ha, don't worry old girl, I found just the right place for you he he he. I know the feeling, I used to dye my hair with henna for many years and my hands and nails were always horrible. Chin up Neti at least it's not your eyebrows and a first date, like in this unforgettable thread

Well Neti you are in good company . As you know I never leave the house without my wellies and pearls which are always polished to a good shine by Lampwick :)

This all sounds rather classy kit ....very nice .I am a great believer in black .It hides a multitude of sins of which I have a lot .The sort of spare tyre type.

Up at the crack of dawn armed with my passport to go to the last outpost of darkest Norfolk with Picky and my nephew to a place called Botesdale to pick up a second car my child decided to buy. I wandered round while they discussed gear sticks and clutches .Very pretty place .

That looks a nice place Jno ..I do like a nice manor house ..did you ever make it to Kentwell ?
