Actually the story has unfolded a bit more. I bought this house, it is the only one in the lane without off street parking, all other houses are big, it's quite a posh area. But my little house is very old and has no drive. There is plenty of room to park 3 cars in the road legally. There was a lay bye opposite which the previous owners used to park in and get the car off the road. In the time between them moving out and me moving in my neighbour opposite dumped earth (excavated from his neighbour who is tarmacing his drive as he has 4 cars) and turfed the lay bye to stop me parking there. My neighbour (same side) has said things that lead me to believe that a recent dent in my car door was caused by her (she's 85 and her reversing skills are scary). I think she asked the guy opposite to turf the lay bye so I had to park elsewhere and give her more room to get in her drive. In any case I can park outside my door and am better off as I'm away from the crazy driver in the lane. The issue is: it's not very neighbourly, and no-one has the right to garden on council land and stick boulders on the kerb to mark their spot. The Tesco van, you shop we drop, was the first one to knock all the boulders all over the place.
My annoyance is mainly because I am a woman on my own and I think they think I don't matter, plus why don't people try a bit harder to get on with the neighbours, I've put it behind me. Well maybe not, Ive got their card marked!
