I don't have the sense I was born with. About an hour ago I went into the garage and the door between the utility room and garage slammed behind me...the door which still has no handle.
After much faffing with various tools there was no option but to climb over the car....no room between the front of the car and the walls to squeeze past...carrying the big step ladder and climb the high, locked gate at the side of the house and slide down the gate into my garden. My neighbours now have a note explaining the flip flop which flew off during this ungainly leg swing over the top of the gate and which is now in their garden.
Made a coffee, one post on Carrust's thread and I was calm enough to go back into the garage........where the door with no handle slammed behind me and I once again found myself climbing over the car, over the ladder over the......you've got it.. :-( x

Bet your language was a bit choice.
Is your leg better now then?
Gness, bless you...you always make me laugh with your antics. I hope your neighbours give back the lost flip or was it the flop ? xx

My leg....no the guy who looked at it this week says it will take up to a year to recover because I have de-glazed the shin...thought that's what you did to a pan. x

I presume you were joking when you said you'd bought a crash helmet in the sale at Aldi .... ?
Do you know if my life had as much excitement and stories as yours - I think I would just stay in, as it seems everytime you go out something happens!
Question Author
Mobile wouldn't help A.......no-one I know would have climbed the gate for me....
And you Sunny-Dave! You have seen that gate...you should have been full of admiration for a Senior Citizen risking life and limb and instead you take the Michael...I am hurt... :-(

The crash helmet is black...to go with the bike of a nice moped boy who may just take me out on it......You brave enough? ;-) x
Gness, Would you like me to pop around and insert a handle for you?
Glad I read that, gness. I find that amnesia from increasing age is nature's way of protecting us. I was just about to go out and do some work on the house, which requires a ladder. Went out yesterday to do it and couldn't remember where I'd put the ladder. Having read your warning, I don't think I'll bother ! (How can you lose a ladder? Don't ask !)
