Blackberry Classic Doesn't Ring For Incoming Calls

OH's Bb classic doesn't ring or vibrate for incoming calls. It pings for text messages, though. On calling it from another phone the screen lights up with the caller's name and number, but no sound at all. Can anyone help, please?

When you go to settings - sounds and ringtones - phone ring tone - what does it have against 'volume' and 'play sound' ?

Prudie, sound and vibrate are on and volume is set to high.

Somewhere on the device under "phone calls only" it says that profile level settings and app level settings are different. Could this be relevant? Underneath that is a greyed out toggle for sound and a line showing that volume is set to max.

I've never used profiles but looking at mine in edit profile management - phone calls only then ring tone/messages/events etc can be + or -. Has he set up profiles?
