Plain cards only so I will be tearing off the half of the card that has glitter before recycling.

It all went in the Recycling Bin, collected yesterday, because no-one said it shouldn't. They can please themselves what they do with it.

Poorly researched. Paper containiing glitter does not go to landfill, it is used to produce energy instead of fossil fuels.

I thought it was well-known that glitter and divert wrapping paper can't be recycled. I've also removed sellotape from cardboard boxes etc for years before recycling.

Contaminated waste cannot be recycled. But that does not mean it necessarily end up in a hole. Large amounts go for burning.
If your Council is burying paper, then they are wasting your money. Which council is it, I will check their recycling results.

Different councils do stuff differently. If anybody wants to know their council's policy their website or town hall will inform.
