Sitting outside in my garden here in North London, where the roar from the North Circular is usually constant, I was struck by the beautiful blue of the sky, the peace without the North Circ's roar, and the crystal-clear air, 'the air like wine' as McColl wrote.

Is this just a weather phenomenon or is the lockdown to thank for it - factories all along the A406 usually add to that road's constant pollution with their smoke and fumes.

So is this just a temporary lull in London's air and noise problems? Will it all go back to 'normal' soon?

I don't want anyone to be sick, but it ain't half nice today in the garden!

Enjoy Allen - it's a glorious day here too.
The air here is more like Eiswein.

It always strikes me (when it's like this) that summer days have been like this for thousands of years. How I hope humans don't do away with such beauty.
Thats a lovely thought for today.

Nah, that's Yorkshire. Do they get summer oop there?
We used to Allen.
in Yorkshire, there are 4 seasons, like everywhere else.

although, they are called June, July, August and Winter.
Sometimes the simple things are the most pleasant.
DannyK, it's strange that you should post the weather for Bradford, Ontario. That's only about 30 miles from me. Clear blue skies and going up to 27 this afternoon.
i haven't ventured forth today, i know i should have but i don't have a garden to relax in. Having to use the local park which is nice all the same. I could have sat on the balcony but haven't. I live in the capital too and the noise has abated, the sky is blue and it makes a nice change from the usual hustle and bustle.
