pill and pregnancy

just wondering when you have the 7 day break from the pill and you have a withdrawal bleed/period does that mean that your not pregnant and everything is functionaing as normal? ive been on the pill now for going on 3 months and although im loving it and havent experienced any side effects i was just wondering whether its a sensible idea to take a pregnancy test every now and then to check its working or whether a period in the 7 day break is enough to put my mind at rest. thanks x

the pill is a very reliable form of contraception your doc would say use another form of contraception though if you experience sickness and the runs cause this can reduce the effectiveness of the pill in some people otherwise i would not worry.
