I am a 17 year old mother with twin girls. My parents are VERY controlling ( they will not even allow me to bathe my girls) and I would like to leave, the father wants to help, but my parents limit his presence what are my legal rights as a mother?

Unless there is a court order in place preventing you from being alone with your children then you can leave your parents home with your children whenever you like (assuming you are in the UK).

I work in a hostel and we have a 17yr old with a baby. They are waiting for a flat.

If you do go down this route your children will have a social worker of their own and they will be monitored closely. It will give you more freedom but will come with greater responsibility.

Go to the LA and ask them what you could do or how they could help. I think that as you have children they can't turn you away and allow you to remain homeless?

I had the same problem but i was 18 at the time. If you live in the uk you can go to a woman's aid hostel and explain your siduation they are very understanding and may offer you some where to stay. Also you have every right as the mother as long as you are doin what is best for your daughters that is all that matters

as the childrens mother you are free to leave and live independant speak to a citizens advice bureau for your rights

Can I just wish you the best of luck smiley. I was also a young mum, and providing you love and look after your children, which is very hard work, but rewarding, I'm sure that you'll manage in the end.
Don't be too quick to want to leave home though hun. What you might see as controlling, could be just that your mum really DOES know best for now. It's a struggle to live properly on your own, let alone with children to look after, but if you decide to leave, then, if you're in the UK, Women's Refuges are pretty good with all types of help - and housing.
