free wifi in mcdonalds

i understand that i can connect to the internet for free in 'hot spots' and that mcdonalds has them. How do i connect to one? I dont want to look like a plonker. thanks billbo:-)

Exactly the same as you connect to any other wifi.

When you switch your laptop on it will automatically search for networks to connect to - you will get a pop up asking you to confirm if it doesn't connect by itself.

the public (unsecured) network you'll find in Mcdonalds is labelled "The Cloud" (you might also find a secure network labelled with a lot of random characters, but that's McDonald's internal network).

Open your browser & click on the McDonalds logo - you'll then need to complete a registration page - after that you're logged in.
