I don't understand the Qs
Like Bobbisox, I'm a bit baffled by the question. If you're looking for the cleverest people on TV quizzes, the guy at the bottom right of this photo might be among them

- but possibly only because he's a regular contributor to AB ;-)
Is that Jim?
One of last year's Mastermind Finalists, Mark Grant, is probably up there. Top five by most measures would also include Pat Gibson and Kevin Ashman from the Eggheads, and Olav Bjortomt -- who, among other things, writes the quiz for the Times.
Has CHRIS' link been on AB before? If so, has the person involved said they are happy for their surname and photo to be made public?

Having Googled the surname, I have a good idea who it is but I am not sure that this personal information should have been disclosed.
Corby - "he's above you" :-)

He's not that clever, look at the score! ;-)
No harm in asking. Not sure that folk should be posting identifying personal information but.
I don't think there is anything particularly clever about being good at GK. All that is required is a good memory and an obsession with facts.
I often wonder who would win if the Eggheads went on The Chase and vice versa. I think the Chasers might edge it as they have a very broad range of knowledge whereas the Eggheads seem to have good knowledge in their own spheres.
Strictly speaking it's against the rules of AB to post personal information, but around the time it was on I couldn't shut up about it, so I guess Chris is free to keep reminding everyone for me :)

To lankeela: it would be close, depends a bit on the format too. I've not seen Pat or Kevin at buzzer quizzes, but I think Kevin Ashman holds the record score on Mastermind. Still, when they've both appeared in competitions I think the top Eggheads tend to come ahead of the top Chasers. Except maybe this year when Paul Sinha won the British Quiz Championship.
I'm amazed to hear that Paul Sinha won the British Quiz Championship - he's easily the worst Chaser.
The Eggheads may have a better general knowledge but they can't match the Chasers' personalities.
brainiac: Nah, stats show that Shaun Wallace is the weakest, but in any case the BQC is a different type of question so it's not easy to judge from performance on the Chase to performance in the BQC.
I would go for chasers first then eggheads.
Chris, I know he has agreed since, but really Jim should have been the one to post that- if he wanted to x
