Pentium 4 and celeron?!?!?!?!?!?

I have a a dvd maker which converts videotapes to digital mpeg files...the thing is the system requirements are pentium 4....I got a new pc a few months ago and it is celeron...would the dvd maker work on my pc or not??

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.In fact Celeron processors are often Pentium processors which didn't come up the exact specifications during manufacture - basically the cache memory is less and bus speed may be down, etc... BUT the point is that the only real difference between them is speed of operation, so anything which will run on a Pentium will run on a Celeron but slower.
