How do I put a birthday reminder into K750i mobile phone pls?

I'm so used to Nokia phones that I'm finding the sony a bit of a pain!! I'm want to put birthday reminders into the calendar (in a Nokia phone you can even set the year they were born and it automatically updates their age each year) - can anything similar be done in the calendar in the Sony K750i phone? I can't seem to even put a birthday note in - I can however put a birthday date in the contacts list as an additional note - but don't know if a reminder comes up. Any ideas please? Also, when setting an alarm on the phone can you set it up so that the phone turns on as an option when you stop the alarm (as on a Nokia phone again!!) - many thanks in advance!!
