flexi pipe attached to cat on vw polo
Hi guys, I still have not got around to buying that toyota corolla, my wifes fault.!!! In the meantime I need some help. On vw polo's, "x reg 2000 model" the flexi tube is attached to the cat and also to the engine, therefore, if there is a problem with this tube then you also need to replace the cat aswell, which costs a fortune. Last year (may 04) my flexi tube was making an annoying rattling sound because i drove over a tree stump (at night) in the new forest. A garage told me that the flexi was blowing air and recommended that I replace it at a total cost of 500. which I did. However, the noise has just started again, I dont want to pay another 500 for a new cat new flexi, is there anything I can do to stop the rattling of the wire mesh that makes up the flexi. The noise only occurs when I take my foot off the accelarator, ie to slow down at lights or downhill and when I rev the car in neutral. I appreciate this is a dodgy one but any suggestions may help. (the flexi also has a little dent in it) Cheers Chaps.
