A Teckel is a type of long haired Dachsund used as a deer tracking dog and other hunting purposes, common on the continent but rare in the UK.
Thanks Buenchico for your helpful advice. The photo is a caption competition and I thought if I knew the breed it may help with a pun. From your answers it's a Terrier or Dachshund or Teckel or crossbreed. I'll work from there. Thanks for all your contributions.

Oh, hang on though! The tags on some of those photos mention 'sausage dog' and 'dachshund', so it seems that I was wrong and Shoota and Wolf63 were correct!
