We have been to Thailand and Malaysia lots of times. The easiest way to get around is using air asia they are abit like easy jet but a lot cheaper. We love Bangkok you must take the river boats .don't use the tourist boats they are expensive. Use the water bus/ ferry it is only a few pence. The khao san road s the place for cheap back pack lodgings. Kuala lumpur is good too. Stay in China town for best value. For the coast our favourites are Hua Hin and ao nang in Thailand and Langkawi in Malaysia . Hope this helps. You do not need Visas for either country. Have fun !
