What is this country coming to when everyone has to think if certain actions may cause offence?
Should all newspapers of any particular political association, be burnt because in their past they may have reported unwisely on an event on which they reported many years ago?

As Frank says everything burnable we get gets burned so it would have been yes, but disappointingly we didn't get one. I am actually with you though that we are in danger of tying ourselves in the knot we've got our knickers in by being offended by absolutely everything for eternity and I think we would all benefit sometimes by ' having a word with ourselves' and being a bit more objective.

If they had used their heads they could have avoided all the fuss about them being delivered in Liverpool and the Wirral, by just letting peolple know that they would be available free in the newsagents that day, then those who wanted one could of picked one up, those that were offended, wouldn't bother, easy. I was amazed how rubbish the free edition of the Sun was. Considering the expense and effort to deliver to every home, you would think they would have done a better job on the content. That James Courdon letter was embarrassing.

It's funny, so many have a go at Liverpool over Hillsborough, wishing they would forget about it, "get over it", but I was always under the impression, that tenacity, perserverance, determination, belief, fighting against injustice, fighting to expose lies and corruption within the police and government, trying to stop the fatcats riding roughshod over the little people, fighting for people who cannot fight for themselves, solidarity for their family and their fellow man, community spirit etc were actually POSITIVE and desirable traits in people ...
and to find them in a WHOLE CITY that has banded together and stuck with it for 25 YEARS, and who did not give up, no matter how fruitless a quest it may have seemed many many times, seeking no reward other than the truth, is admirable rather than something to be mocked and dismissed and even sneered at.
Maybe the country would be in better shape if the rest of the country took a leaf out of Liverpools book and joined forces to fight for their rights and the truth, and didnt just sit back and let people we are supposed to trust to care for us get away with terrible things ... yeah, funny that ...
