What Would You Do?

I've seen that a lot in the replies and posts on here since Monday night. One man on the radio this morning, a former senior member of COBRA, said the answer is to deport all those with known connections to terrorism. Even if there isn't enough evidence to bring them to trial. If their activities have brought them to the attention of the security forces, they should be deported without any questions being asked. Summary dismissal!

It would be a building where they cannot escape and where they would spend the rest of their days.
Bigbad...don't be childish. You have admitted that what you are suggesting is not practical, but still insist that you would deport these people anyway....a bit of an empty gesture then isn't it ?
I would get the security forces to admit that they have dropped off in this case, and at the same time, they can say that after the loss of 20,000 staff, they haven't got the manpower anymore.
Smart intelligence is the way forward in this matter.

I didn’t make a gesture, I gave an opinion, just like 10Clarion St asked for, and it would work a lot better than your idea.
How would you get the security services to admit their error? Sit down with a nice cup of tea? Tickle them until they could stand no more? Threaten them with a bomb?
Even if another 20,000 staff were employed today, they would still be overstretched.
Your head appears to be very firmly buried in the sand, Mikey. Drastic measures are called for, and if that upsets a few people along the way, then tough luck.

If we deported the 12000 Muslims on the watch list, would it decrease or increase the threat of terrorism in the UK?
It would clearly reduce the immediate risk, but would it increase the long-term risk? Italy has been deporting more suspected of being involved in terrorism this last couple of years, but it is a bit soon to judge how successful that has been.
