How do you get tested for Coeliac?

I am absolutely sure I suffer from this, I was diagnosed with IBS but the medication didn't work at all. I looked on the coeliac website, at the symptoms, to which I can relate with most, if not all of them.

I decided to start eating as a coeliac and since then, no symptoms, or very minor symptoms. Can the Doctor carry out a test for this to determine this "illness"?

i'm not sure, but if you can alleviate the symptoms by having a coeliac diet, what benefit would there be to having a test?
