Hi all!
We recently rehomed a budgie from a lady whose cat wouldn't leave the cage alone and actually managed to pull it down, resulting in one of the budgies escaping and flying out of the window.
Just wondering what info we can get from the ring on his leg. Its black which we know means he was born this year (the woman only had him for about 3 weeks) and his cere is just turning a pale blue so we knew he is a he and only young.
The numbers on his ring are 87M5932 it also looks like there is 13 printed but sideways on the ring opposed to lengthways like the other numbers.
Providing it is a permanent ring, the number includes the person who bred it and a number (5932) means an ID number so it can be identified in a show for young birds and who bred it. The 13 is of course the year it was bred. You can use the ring number to include if you advertise the bird as lost, but apart from that there is no other useful info. The breeder's name will be...

Thanx Wildwood! :)
I'm a bit sad when it comes to things like this and finding out finer points and meanings etc. Lol
He is a pretty boy but I doubt we will be showing him anytime soon :)
Thanx again!
