longest marriage in the world 85 years

liu yung yan and yan wan of tawain married in 1917 and at the time it was recorded in the guiness book of records had been married for 85 years
patience really must be a virtue for them then..
whats the longest marriage you have ever known anyone to have???

I think it depends on how you define marriage? Some people stay married, but do they really have a 'marriage' in a sense? Some stay together but one or the other is having an affair.

Personally I wouldn't want to be married 85 years to the same person! It most get boring.

My great grandparents were married for 73 years. Fools.

Sadly Grandpop died aged 94 having suffered Alzeimhers. Nanan died 6 weeks later. It was as if she felt her life's work was done and she just gave up.

Grandpop also played the church organ for 70 years - despite for the last 10 years being completely blind.
