I've travelled the byways of Cymru
Her mountains & valleys to view
The beauties of Penfro & Powys
And the lakes around Elan so blue
I purchased a plaque up in Bangor
It pictured a wild Snowdon track
''Cymru am Byth''was on it
But ''Made in Hong Kong'' on the back.
I heard the sweet bells near the Dyfi
And the lark rising clear in the sky
The singing of male voices thrilled me
As a tear trickled down from my eye
A Welsh hat I purchased in Cardiff
One tall, shiny & black
''Cymru am Byth was on it
But ''Made in Hong Kong'' on the back.
Now I am happily married
And I have charming Welsh wife
Our garden so full of red roses
Is far from the maddening strife
Our heir was born in the Springtime
A fine handsome fellow fellow named Jack
With eyes like the blue skies of Tenby
But I'm frightened to look at his back.
