I've been doing the above puzzle daily since it was advertised on here. For the umpteenth time, having 4 correctly placed letters and with 2 or 3 possible solutions, i have gone alphabetically. And, for the umpteenth time, the solution was the last one selected. Took me 5 attempts again. Talk about frustrating:-(

I keep forgetting to do it, but managed it in 3 attempts today.

There does seem to be a lot of words that have just one different letter

4 today for me, my best has been 3. I nearly had it in 2 one day having chosen PERKS as my second instead of PERKY

I tend to get the answers in 3 which is lucky but I have had a couple of 5s lately. One day the answer was Robot and I guessed the O which was highlighted green. I thought as the letter appeared in the answer twice it should have shown up again as yellow but it didn`t.

Have you tried Word Master? You can do as many as you want but it's very addictive!

Today I did it in 3.

The only time I have failed the puzzle I was in that position at 3, and then was wrong for 3 more goes.

I use all the vowels in the first two words, unless my first word gives me enough letters to make a good guess

My first word uses 4 of the 5 vowels plus a commonish letter!

I always open with 'adieu'. Another favourite opening is 'audio'. Both give you some indication of vowels used (or not as the case has been quite often just recently).
