Listener Online

Can someone please tell me how to submit a Listener solution online? I can't get to the shop for a paper copy of the Times and can't find instructions for online use anywhere. Perhaps you might email me directly, if the Answerbank system allows this. Many thanks, Dialler.

I’m sure you can’t submit online.

Thank you Cloverjo, but I thought you could only submit on the form cut from the paper, not on a photocopy or printed copy.

If you're not a times online/crossword club member then you can only enter via the newspaper version ..posted off.
Tatters and others are all crossword club members so can send off a print out

Tatters supplies it on a friday so that people can make a start on it rather than having to wait until sat when they buy their paper

Thank you Roslyn. So how do I become a Crossword Club member? I subscribe to the Times online, so I see the crosswords, but I can't send them in. It all seems excessively cliquey and secret!

If you subscribe to the Times online then you are already able to access the puzzles. There is no “crossword club” as such any more.

Yes, Ichkeria, I can access the puzzles. I just can't send them in. Or are you now allowed to send answers by post on a print-out? I thought you could only submit on a puzzle form cut out from the actual print copy of The Times.

Depends what the puzzle is: most of them you can submit online but not the Listener.

if you click on puzzles on the Times website , as you say the puzzles are there , but to get the Listener print out you need to click on the crossword club link in the top left corner of the puzzles page. From there you can click on specialist puzzles, then click on Listener for your print out (which you then use for your postal entry) It's available on there at 4pm each Friday

Yes, Roslyn, thanks for that, I do (or try!) the puzzle each week. It's just that I remember from years ago strict instructions that submissions had to be cut from The Times (and trimmed to the exact size, so they were all the same when they went into the hat for sorting!). Thank you ichkeria for making it plain that it has changed. I'll get back to sending in the few that I can do, like the lovely 'Escape' by Xanthippe.

Nothing has changed.
Only the option now of an online version you can print off
All that guff about cutting the thing to a certain size is just an optional extra

If you can’t get a copy
