Each definition has a letter removed and made into the real definition. I know which letters to remove so I've put them in brackets. 16 across: Ferdy sneakily nearing earth with Rex (5) (F) 22 across: Down under, unsort Uluru errors you spawned in the first place (4) (O) 35 down: Great wiles hoax a saint coming up on the outside(5) (W)
I'm also stuck with the bit - Six cells contain clashes of more than one letter forming thematic names which should be entered with a cross (I've got extra letters in 36 across, 44 across and 6 down so far.)
I've arranged one row and got a two word answer, but can't find the other one.
Think (no, know) I need help!!!!!!

22a O comes out of unsort ... giving u turns as the defn ....Oz u turns UEYS
35d has a clash with 39a
lies is the defn t hump ers
the 6 clashes are 16a/9d here the extra letters from 16a are GRAIN ..extras from 9d are GER ... put them together and you get a character from the tv prog which you should have from your extra letters.
5 more characters can be found ....clashes are 6d/24a
27a/19d, 36a/37d, 39a/35d, 44a/45d
Then the bottom line and top line anagrammed give you what else is required.
