Hairdresser has just been to the house, so now look a bit better. Gosh it's a little colder here today and damp, but sun is trying to come through.

Meccano and Lego and what was the other one they had Playmobil or some such thing ? Then they had those Brio wooden train set thingys ...nowadays we have a digitally operated Merklin train set with all the gubbins ,scenery and what have you in the back room...all laid out on a proper board attached to the wall and electrified ....Toys for boys . Hours spent pouring over catalogues and unintelligible conversations about points ,buffers and gauges .

Why can't they be content with a colouring book or jigsaw puzzle !

It is freezing here .-9c ,real feel according to Accuweather ... no snow as yet but it's blowing a gale ,dark and dreary .The arthritis index is set on extreme today and the way my hips are complaining they may right there .


All my birds seem to have disappeared ..ungrateful little B's after I went out specially and bought them dried insects and meal worms .

I have only ever been to Ikea once ..never again . We went there to buy a bathroom cupboard and all I bought in the end were two tea towels .The one over on the Purley way. Nightmare of a place .I have never seen so many people queuing for meatballs ,Billy bookshelves and Klippan Klippon doorknobs or whatever they are called .

Decided in my infinite wisdom to finally get around to making the door curtain - I've had the material for a year....yep, jno isn't the only procrastinator in here...all was going splendidly...managed to heave sewing machine via a series of steps - from 'dolly' > to the stool > to chair >to table. Came to ironing the tabs for the top & knocked the bl00dy thing off the ironing board & it fell apart....aaaagggghhh!!!! Ok, so I've had it for at least 14 years but I'd have preferred it to die of natural causes.
That's the last time I try & be thrifty...it's off to the ready made shop from now on.

erm, can I interest you in a bowl of homemade veggie soup? �1.50.....?

Went to the dentist today,been suffering a few days now but after 2 X-rays and a lot off prodding he couldnt suss out whats wrong but he thinks its a toss up between two tuffs.and ive got to suffer fer a few days till I can pick which tuff the nerves will be pulled from.Erm....so I get the blooming blame if I pick the wrong one..!! isnt there a law against that sort of thing....anyways he says ive got to take ibroprofern...summick like that...he can buffer orf...im drinking a few glenfiddichs instead....hehe..!(:O)
having said that,he's got a groovy surgery,he's a surfer and there's a flat screen on the ceiling showing surfing...well cool...2 much man...(:O)

Today we got some real snow, not the slushy kind but the old-fashioned kind that stays put. We have a special word - I wonder if you do too - for that kind of snow that makes that special sound packing itself tighter when you step on it?

The hairdresser comes to your house, Neti? Now I'm impressed. Btw, Spanish one, I've just watched a documentary about "the summer of love" and it ended on Ibiza 2007 with a couple of latter-day hippies called Alok and Merel - bet you know them?

There's a series of Ibuprofen commercials that have been running on television for many years now where a weird little man - the Ipren pill himself - sings and dances (don't ask me why.) Those commercials are... strange... but the below one is kinda clever after all. As you can see the original pill is sitting in his easy chair watching all the fake pills around the world trying in their different, ethnic ways to imitate his inimitable style...

I've been watching my gruesome DVD's I had for Crimble Called Bones . Loosely based on Kathy Reichs books about the forensic anthropologist .I am totally hooked .The FBI agent is dishy .
Please do not mention teeth ...I have a wobbler at the back .If I have to have it out I shall need to rob a bank because that will mean a whole new bridge .
