The groom has a forage cap, not a beret, tucked under his left epaulet. The uniforms do not appear to be British, yet the groom wears a British army-pattern belt. My guess is that the uniforms might be Canadian.
Ah, my mistake I'm not familiar with the correct terms for the head gear. Thank you for that Bookbinder. I'll go and do some googling on Canadian uniforms.
No Dennis. I e-mailed a site called Silvermans who deal with military uniforms and asked did they recogise the uniform, and the answer I got was this "The suit is a khaki serge suit circa 50's, we have these available priced @125.00 per suit. These are a good copy of WWII type which you cannot buy today. We would require all the measurements. Hope that this has helped you." Well, bless him for answering but no it didn't help at all! Back to the drawing board. Thank you for helping.
Why not ask at the photographer's studio that took the picture?
