You could use clip on hair extensions to hurry the look on a bit and your own hair will be growing un-noticed.

Citric acid is known to stimulate follicle growth. The only difficulty is that citric acid most commonly occurs in the juice of citrus fruits, which just runs off your head.
A popular solution is to use a product containing the citric acid from the fruits, but formed into a substance that enables it to stick to the scalp ... specifically, orange marmalade. The sugar just acts as a neutral base.
If you massage marmalade into your scalp each day for a few weeks, you should start to notice a difference.
Oh, just one other thing ... when you go out, you might want to wear a hat, otherwise the cold weather can cause the sugar to crystallise.

it also helps to stimulate the folicles so brushing and massaging. Obviously don't be rough so you end up breaking the hair.
Also tie it up in ponytail helps it to grow as there's a pull on the folicles. If your hair isn't long enough then do lots of little pony/pig tail all around the head.
One word of advice though, you may want to try that look at home when you're not expecting anyone to come round :-)
B vit and seakelp as mentioned, really helps too
