is that a coy sort of AB why as in
I really know- - - a sot of wry why

I dont know - - why ?
The most deserving person of a peerage is MICK LYNCH.
ML has said that he believes the reason to be that he'd admitted, during interview, that he could only put a limited number of hours into the work of the House.
He applied? I thought you were nominated for the red benches. Maybe he hasn't got enough friends in high political places.
Because he told them he was too busy to turn up.
He has left the door open to try again when his daughter grows up.

Peter ,, Probably because he has tried to help the working class pay their very very high cost of living bills created by this Govt and that would not go down very well With Boris and his Toffs, would it Peter
I guess you haven't read the real story gulliver...Best to remain ignorant eh?
Gully give it a rest just for one day.

Save your powder for tomorrow when the prey will be wounded.

The government are not to keen on anyone who can fully understand and pick apart their dirty deeds.
You do come out with some biased garbage. Loads of ex Labour MPs also get into the House of Lords so Boris and his toffs let them in and what hypocrites they are for accepting.
Well, if John Rutter still hasn't received a knighthood - anything can happen!
He hasn't applied, he has been nominated in exactly the same way as every other candidate, refused only because he has said he can't guarantee to put the hours in, his family is his prioity
Headline from the Guardian, is it wrong?

Martin Lewis says House of Lords rejected his peerage application
if every peer was required to put in a minimum number of hours a week, that would be a fair reason for rejecting him.

But the noble Lord Archer, for instance, attended 16 times in six years and spoke once.

I suspect the nation would get better value out of Lewis even if he did have to leave early for the school run.
He had applied to become a member.
