Insurance blood tests
4 Answers
I have had a life insurance policy for a couple of years with Liverpool Victoria. I recently asked to increase my cover by the small amount of 7000. They have requested that I go for a health screening which includes blood tests for cholesterol, glucose etc. When I queried why this was necessary I was told that it was now routine but wasn't at the time I first bought my policy.
My question is, if they were not happy with any aspect of my health (for example if I had high cholesterol) and they refused me the increase in cover, can they also revoke my existing cover or impose additional terms to it or do they have to honour my existing policy under the terms at the time it was accepted?
Thanks in advance!
