Most people have a form of photo ID which they pay for to use for other purposes (such as to drive or to travel). So they won't pay to vote - they've paid to drive or travel.
Those who don't have such ID can register for a postal vote. It costs nothing to do so, so they won't pay to vote either.

Either pay for photo ID or do a postal vote where you have to put all faith in the postal system and the people opening / counting the postal votes i always prefered to go into the polling station one because its a nice experience really brings the sense of community together but mainly because it feels like a more direct way of voting
so as I said its pay to vote nowadays or go through the online whooharr of a postal vote its actually broken im not a fan and as mamya says if they made free easy to obtain photo ID there would be no problem but photo ID is actually expensive

In Ulster, specific photo ID is required in order to vote. If someone doesn't have any, they can apply for a free Electoral Identity Card.

There is no requirement to go through an "online whooharr" to secure a postal vote. You can pick up the phone to contact your local authority and they will send you the necessary form or you can make an appointment to be seen in person. However, since you post on here it seems you have internet access and I would suggest that gaining your postal vote online is far easier than opening an account on AB. You can ask for a postal vote for all elections using just the one application. As mentioned, you can deliver your voting paper to the polling station if you prefer.
Your argument (that you will be forced to "pay to vote") fails at every turn and you are simply using what is a perfectly reasonable proposal to suggest the government is seeking to disenfranchise large numbers of people for nefarious reasons.

You don't need to go to any websites or make any phone calls. You can visit your Town Hall. If you want to vote in person you will need photo ID and if you haven't got one you will have to obtain one. But you do not need to "pay to vote" because, as I have illustrated, you can do so at no cost.
