In a religion other than Christianity, a (real) Tibetan Geshe Lama, (R.I.P.) said to me about prayer, & in fact religion in general; If a doctor gives you a prescription for medicine, it's no use endlessly sitting reading either the prescription or what is written on the bottle, - you have to take the medicine if you want it to take effect.

I tend towards agreement with Atheist regarding, 'The Infernal Wall of Unanswered Prayer'. Irrational beliefs and behaviors are not without consequences not only to practicing individuals but to society at large. I see nothing to be gained through the divisive presumption that one is worshipping the right god, of the existence of a god in general or in erecting a loopy monument to the glorification of ignorance. Nevertheless, if it's their money they've earned the right to throw it away on this monstrosity of technological perversion or Elvis records if that's what they choose to do. Rationality is a choice as is how one chooses to express their humanity or lack thereof. The choice to point and laugh or weep in silence have proven to me to be equally unproductive. Reality is sometimes a bitter pill to swallow. I choose to see it for what it is even if it is I alone who sees it as it is.
