Until a few days ago, when I clicked on a link in a question in AB, a new window opened in front of the one I had been looking at. Now when I click on a link, it opens as a new tab, which isn't a problem, but what does annoy me is that the tab does not open automatically in front of the window I had been looking at - I can see the tab title changing to the page I want in front of my eyes. I have to click on the tab to bring the page forward.
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, but i don't know how else to describe it!
Thanks tamborine. I'm using 3.5.5 and this problem suddenly crept in overnight. I can't understand how it can have happened as Firefox was OK yesterday. It's inexplicable how that tick disappeared from the box. I know I didn't do anything!
If you ever want to back up Firefox then may I suggest Mozbackup http://www.mozbackup.org/ - it backs up everything including settings, bookmarks and the add-ons, but the interface is not the most user-friendly.
I've been using this for months and know from experience that it successfully restores Firefox from the backups that it creates.
Yeah, MozBackup is all kinds of awesome. I've used it to restore Firefox and all my favourites on a new install of WIndows 7 after reformatting, and replacing my Thunderbird email client and mail archive. I just don't understand why Mozilla don't make their own official version of it.
