Morning all,

Just a question regards the above "Internet Security" which one do you find the best to use & cost, at this time I'm with Norton, is there better out there? I have been with McAfee but not impressed, tia, enjoy you day.

This question's been asked many times before and there are always varying views. We pay for Norton and we are very happy with it. No intention of changing.

Get MacAfee as part of the package from BT which we use for Socialising,
very pleased with it.
Have a different IP/Security package for business, no probs with either.

You will get various answers on here, but mine are

Microsoft Security Essentials is Free
Microsofts own firewall also free
Malwarebytes, free version, just run a scan every 2 weeks or so.

Microsoft's firewall is as much use as a cat flap in a submarine.
I cant speak for security essentials or Malwarebytes.
I have used Norton for years and never had a major problem.

I have use Norton in the past and found it slowed my PC down quite a bit and it got costly. For the past 10 years I have been using AVG, CCleaner and Malwarebytes and have had no problems with them and they are all free.

Not true - especially when you consider that most routers have a built-in firewall which runs in addition to the firewall on your computer.

Download and install AVAST Free this is one of the best antivirus programs on the market . I have used it for many years with great results the latest version is the best one yet. They have a paid version as well which is not much different than the free one

I think the security scare is a mild form of paranoia, things have moved on since the early days of the internet, Microsoft Security Essentials and the weekly use of Superantispyware seems to do the job for me. However, if people want to spend money on these things it's their business.
