US Visa for convictions
I would like to update my status on my original subject of obtaining a visa for the USA and say that I declared my conviction and secured an interview and am pleased to report that I was successful. It seems if your of offense doesn't involve 'moral turpitude' e.g fraud, extortion, prostitution etc., you have a reasonable chance of success.

Glad to hear it.
I thought from your previous posts you had a good chance - if the crime was not moral turpitude (or the few other categories they mention) then they really don't have any grounds to turn you down. The tricky bit is deciding whether it was moral turpuitude or not

Thanks very much guys. I made a conscious effort to post my experience as you only seem to hear about people's failures in these things. So I hope I've given some inspiration to people in similar circumstances. Arguably, visitors are stopped and quizzed at random post-9/11 so I'm quite prepared for that. It seems a small price to pay for entry in a country you want to visit. Thanks again.
