Last night before I went to bed I noticed I had an itchy lump, that looked like a bit on my back, and one on the inside of my thigh. I developed more through the night and today, on my back, under my eye, on my legs, bottom, etc, and at least 5 inside my bra!

Now my kids have them too, my 4 year old boy is the worst with atleast 6 around his groin.

They look exactly like mosquito bites, and are red and itchy.

We have no pets, and we haven't changed washing powders or shampoos, etc.

Will be going to the doctor anyway if they haven't calmed down, it's just to put my mind at rest!

Thanks.

Try calling NHS Direct, sounds like mumps or chicken pox to me...
sounds like the first case of the plague in the UK since 1600 . I'm leaving :-(
I was wondering whether you found out what the cause of the lumps was. I have the same symptoms and can only think that it might be an allergy to washing powder or a new allergy to certain fabrics. It was particularly bad in the bra area, very itchy and welts appeared after I rubbed the lumps. I have not yet been to the doctor as after I had a bath they reduced considerably but each day a few appear.

My doctor told me it was berry bugs!? Even though we hadn't been near any long grass/berrys/anything like that!

My son also got a lot more of them after I posted this question, but around 24 hours later they stopped appearing. Mine itched for at least a week though, as if they were fresh bites, but they weren't.
