Has anyone used this service? Is it relatively easy for an inexperienced traveller to find and use (on foot or by car). Will taxi's take you over it?

Anywhere in Malta is easy to get to.  The old buses go everywhere.  Catch a bus to the ferry terminal and get the ferry over to Gozo.  It' cheap as chips.  If you are planning to travel all week on the buses, get a weekly ticket, it's only about a fiver. Enjoy.

Hi, I used this service in October 2004.

It was pretty simple, the main problem we found was waiting in a Massive queue in the blistering heat to get on it. I would certainly recommend getting there early in the morning.

We went as foot passengers and got a bus there. It's a main bus stop, loads of buses going there; and well sign posted for car users.

The journey from Malta to Gozo is free, It was a very low cost (maybe 3) to go from Gozo to Malta as footpassengers. It took about 30 mins, if that and the ferries run very frequently.
