what is the question? How many letters? Do you have any?
So, replace it.

I have restyled the question.

My fingers slipped - sorry
Where is your restyled question?
Thread of the day ... shouldn't this be in the News section?
Take a deep breath Sylvie and start again.

As this is Answerbank, you need to ask a question then hopefully one or more of us will attempt to answer it.

At the moment you are giving us random statements.
Are you in the dark?

Well, we are atm!
Has someone been hitting you with a light bulb? How many blows were struck?
Question Author
Ok

Light bulb popped.

Put in a replacement and it didn't light. Tried new lightbulb in another lamp and it worked fine.

So I checked the live and neutral wires in the plug were properly connected and also put in a new 3 amp fuse. Still no luck.

Is there anything else that needs checking?

Fuse board, or circuit breaker
I assume that we're talking about a table/standard lamp, not a ceiling fitting. You say that you checked the plug connections. Check the connections in the lampholder.
Question Author
Thank you Baldric. Unfortunately the fuse board/circuit breaker is showing all switches OK
It's pointless fitting a new plug fuse until after you have found and corrected the fault.

As you've checked the plug then maybe Lampholder needs checking, pull plug out first!
The connections inside the lamp holder may be loose...or there may be a broken wire within the flex.
Question Author
Hi Bookbinder,
It is a small table lamp around 12 inches tall. I will have a look inside the lamp holder.
Have you checked the new fuse that you put in? If the first fuse blew because of a problem with the wiring then the new fuse might have blown also. You need to check that fuse with a meter or put it in another plug and check that that appliance works.
