Sista referred to a certain book yesterday that she bought for 50p in a charity shop and whilst the book makes pretty much riveting reading the book itself is in tatters.
I googled said book to perhaps buy a better one
New book costs £499.99
Used book costs £49.99
Would sista have an original and would it be worth anything. Thanks for any replies.

Books can be worth considerable amounts for various reasons. Condition is paramount but there may be more important factors such as:
age, first edition first impression, unusual features e.g sprayed edges, slipcase issue, signed, lined and dated (though inscribed copies can devalue) etc etc
I have loads of signed first editions and I have just arranged ahead of publication to receive a signed copy of JRR Tolkein's grandson's new book!
Good luck!

I have no idea if this is rare...but it's certainly pricey for a book written by a dog...;-)).....
