I remember back in the 60s paying 2/6 for a haircut.

Haven't seen any new fivers, have only recently seen tatty germ ridden ones recently.
As has been mentioned when either given change or asking for cash-back, the comment is usually, sorry, no fivers.

Have heard there's talk about getting rid of the penny, - that'll push inflation up...
am told they roll well for a line....apparently ;)

I still can't find one, although my local Post Office says that they might have some in on Monday. I heard that they are a little slippery.

I agree Mikey, they are very slippery. Think this will be a problem if there are a few together in a wallet or purse...not that they stay in my purse for long lol

We have the plastic CHF 50 notes here in Switzerland , that were introduced 3 months ago. Personally I don't like them. They don't fold neatly in the wallet.

Ps Cheapest haircut here is CHF 20 (15 quid).

Have checked, for those still interested in costs of haircuts,...he charges £4 for pensioners Mon-Wed.
