Anyone notice the couple first introduced at Rani and Zeedan's engagement party were aunt and uncle then gran asked to be introduced to Rani's parents!!

I think those scenes were cobbled together after the actor was sacked. The way that the Gran confronted them, didn't ring true.

I think in their culture Zeedan would now call them that out of respect, not real aunt and uncle (I may be wrong tho)

Yes, that's what I thought. I thought the story seemed a little far fetched- whilst she wanted her revenge it did seem very cruel to hijack Zeedan's day.

I agree with silliemillie as when I used to watch Indian Summers, I remember they used to call people Auntie and Uncle although I don't think they were actually.

Why would Zeedan introduce his aunt and uncle to his parents?
They are Rani's parents and 'aunt and uncle' are terms of respect.

This hasn't been cobbled together because when Mark Anwar was sacked he did not film any more scenes - the engagement party had already been filmed.

Just watched it again and the 'aunt and uncle' were definitely introduced to Sharif, and then a few minutes later Yasmeen arrived and said to Sharif - aren't you going to introduce me to Rana's parents?
He introduced her to the 'aunt and uncle'.
